The aim of the event is to raise awareness about the transnational funding opportunities available for energy projects, in order to help stimulate and develop energy project ideas to ensure that the North East capitalises upon EU energy funding opportunities.

- Provide information on European funding programmes for energy and climate change projects – Interreg IVB; Intelligent Energy Europe; and Framework Programme 7 (FP7);
- Showcase energy projects previously supported under by of these programmes – they will share their experiences (good and not so positive) of running projects under these programmes;
- Inspire you to apply to these programmes;
- Challenge you to think creatively about these funding programmes;
- Provide an opportunity for you to meet the programme leaders, to further develop your project ideas; and network with like-minded individuals and people who can help you develop your project.
