Step towards a low-carbon community

This one-day conference will bring together some of the country's most exciting community-based energy projects to motivate and inspire you.

Location :North East Theme :Energy savings & energy efficiency Start Date :29/11/07 Organiser : Energy Saving Trust Target Audience : Individuals interested in community-based energy projects Venue : The CastleGate, Newcastle-upon-Tyne

The day will provide opportunities to share experiences and ideas and develop contacts across the network.  The programme is:

10.15 Welcome and introduction to the conference by Karen Lawrence, Head of Advice,

Energy Saving Trust

10.20 Key note address by Mark Lynas, journalist, author and climate activist

10.50 Inspirational projects in action:

1 Sanford Housing: ‘Two steps forward, one step back’

2 Ashton Hayes: ‘Stepping forward, 18 months on’

3 Community buildings: ‘Stepping ahead’

11.30 Refreshments

11.50 Morning workshop session: choose from the selection of workshops (see over)

13.05 Lunch

13.55 Project tables and exhibition. Your chance to shout about your project!

14.30 Afternoon workshop session: choose from the selection of workshops (see over)

15.45 Final session (includes a surprise interactive element!)
