This is a gathering of Europe's manufacturers for three days of sustainable manufacturing events.

Forestry Commission NE England Region and ConFor's north England region, with the support of the Regional Climate Change Partnership, have organised this event to raise awareness about how trees, woods, forests and timber contribute to tackling climate change.

The science of climate change has become heavily politicised, with 'beliefs' intertwined with scientific fact.

The aim of the event is to raise awareness about the transnational funding opportunities available for energy projects, in order to help stimulate and develop energy project ideas to ensure that the North East capitalises upon EU energy funding opportunities.

The focus for this meeting is Community CHP.

A third of UK-homes are hard-to-treat: off the gas network or unsuitable for standard insulation measures. Technologies to tackle these homes are increasingly available and cost effective. Nonetheless, at current refurbishment rates it will take several hundred years to improve significantly the energy standards of the UK's hard to treat homes.
