HAUXLEY NATURE RESERVE VISITOR CENTRE – GROUND SOURCE HEAT

The reserve is part of the former Radcliffe open cast coal working, which was landscaped to produce a lake with islands. Northumberland Wildlife Trust purchased the site in 1983 to develop as a public reserve. The visitor’s centre at the site features several sustainable technologies such as a green roof and a ground source heat pump.
