Woking Council
Woking Council has led the way in implementing projects using a range of low and zero carbon technologies, including solar photovoltaics, combined heat and power and fuel cells. In 2002 Woking adopted a comprehensive Climate Change Strategy. The strategy is one of the most comprehensive to be developed in the UK and covers all energy use including power, heat, water, waste disposal planning and transport.
The council has also established an ‘environmental footprint’ for Woking in connection with the development of land. The aim is to encourage a lower, less harmful level of CO2 in new developments…
